Marni joins forces with Farfetch, the leading global platform for the luxury fashion industry, to present ZOOTERICO: a design collection of furniture and other home objects inspired by the zodiac signs, available exclusively on Farfetch.com from July 8th.
This limited-edition collection by Marni mirrors the playful spirit of the brand and its design codes, exploring the distinctiveness of each zodiac sign through combinations of sophisticated colours and unpredictable materials, in harmony with nature.
The universe introduced by ZOOTERICO opens a passionate dialogue between design and all the possible interpretations of the horoscope: an enigmatic twist which characterizes the identity of each piece.
The collection introduces twelve product families echoing the zodiac signs in abstract form, presenting a range of hand-woven chaise lounges, chairs, benches, rocking chairs and stools in natural fiber and recycled PVC, as well as tableware accessories such as resin trays and cardboard fruit baskets. The range also includes decorative products such as metal sculptures and candle holders in terracotta, folding screens, umbrella stands and basket bags in fique fiber.
Each product is one-of-a-kind and is the result of a collaborative venture with Colombian artisans who have been working with Marni for many years. Through ZOOTERICO Marni renews its commitment in engaging with local communities, in the attempt to actively preserve artisanal traditions and propel them into the present. All products are crafted following traditional techniques attesting to the Colombian artisans’ conservative yet visionary perspective in experimenting with materials and colours inspired by the natural world.
