LONDON, U.K. June 7, 2023– FARFETCH Limited (NYSE: FTCH), the global destination for modern luxury fashion, and New Guards Group’s jointly created brand, There Was One™ (TWO), today announced the launch of an exclusive collaboration with Nigerian fashion designer, Lisa Folawiyo. This collaboration marks the first-ever partnership for TWO and features an eight-piece womenswear capsule collection, available exclusively on FARFETCH.

The TWO x Lisa Folawiyo collection draws inspiration from classic Lisa Folawiyo pieces and silhouettes, infusing TWO’s contemporary design approach with Lisa Folawiyo’s iconic aesthetic. The collection showcases summer designs with a playful mix of the signature Ankara fabric and custom prints. One of the standout features is the custom ‘hearts intertwined’ print that originated from Lisa Folawiyo’s SS17 collection titled ‘She wears her heart on his sleeve’, which celebrated the unique bond between two individuals. The iconic print has been reimagined and incorporated into the capsule collection, adding a touch of romanticism to the designs.

Lisa Folawiyo, Designer, said:

“So thrilled to have collaborated with There Was One on creating this collection. That each piece made was a revisit to a most loved Lisa Folawiyo print and to have worked with my favourite fabric, Ankara, the process for me, was not only enjoyable but also endearing. The ease and lightness of the styles and the choice of prints and colours make for such a sweet summer collection. One that I absolutely love!”

The TWO x Lisa Folawiyo collection will be available exclusively on Farfetch.com from June 7, 2023. Prices range between £95 to £390.

About Lisa Folawiyo

Having trained as a lawyer, but with a deep love for all things fashion since childhood, Lisa decided to explore her true passion by delving into fashion design. Without formal training but fore armed with a good  eye for detail, a sharpened sense of symmetry and proportion, in addition to exquisite taste, Lisa began her fashion label ‘Jewel By Lisa’(now widely known as her eponymous label Lisa Folawiyo) in 2005.

Heavily influenced by her West African and Caribbean heritage, every collection for her,  is an interlocking/ weaving/ stringing together of  culture, tradition and history, her childhood memories and experiences that unlock and tell the tales of her own African experience, the familiar and unfamiliar, with a modern and directional approach.

With a penchant for print, colour and embellishment, Lisa Folawiyo collections are most recognisable by their vibrancy, hand craftsmanship, texture and elevated design detail.
